Synopsis

ODI research on Namibia indicates that the loss of current EU preferences is likely to have negative economic and social effects. Namibia's major agricultural exports to the EU would be put in a less favourable position than those of its major competitors, all of which are more advanced economies. The EU could avoid this situation if it has the political will.
