Aid coordination

This briefing paper argues that increasingly effective coordination amongst donor countries is needed to eliminate anomalies arising from conflicts of interest, different administrative procedures, contradictory prescriptions for the recipient's economic progress, or duplication of effort. Highlighting the increasing preoccupation amongst major donors with their own problems, the paper nevertheless notes their ambition to turn the notion of a 'common aid effort' into operational reality.
