Economic forecasts for the third world: 1984
Keywords:
Economic growth, Governance, Trade & investmentSynopsis
This Briefing Paper reviews the main features of international economic forecasts published this year. According to the forecasts, the developing countries are recovering during 1984 and 1985 to their 1970s rates of growth. Unlike the industrial countries, however, they will not have 1-2 years of above average growth, as is normal after a deep recession. They are therefore permanently worse off than expected before the recession.
