Keywords:
Inequality, Refugees, Health, Migration, Jobs & livelihoodsSynopsis
Drawing on small-scale qualitative studies in Bangladesh, India and Nepal, this Project Briefing - part of the EMPHASIS (Enhancing Mobile Populations' Access to HIV and AIDS Information Services and Support) project - focuses on Bangladeshi sailors' knowledge of HIV- and AIDS-related diseases. Although reported HIV-risk behaviour is low, the study highlights behaviours such as the low use of condoms and habits in visiting sex workers.
