The conference had the intention of informing and clarifying the complex development scene of Britain, the Community and the Third World.
The Society for International Development and the Overseas Development Institute convened an international audience of officials, businesses and academics to discuss and analyse the present framework of community relations with the less developed countries of the world and the problems that might arise in light of the British application to join the European Community.
