Synopsis

This study provides a systematic comparison of the aid policies of six European Union's countries. It examines the implications of these donors' programmes and their effectiveness and it makes some comparisons between them.

The political structure, the personnel organisation and the donor strategy are all being assessed.

Finally, this study aims at reviewing the extent, the effectiveness and the future prospects for EU donor co-ordination.
