Institutions, management, and agricultural development

This book contains five papers prepared for a one-day meeting at ODI in September 1978. The purpose of the meetingwas to explore the possibilities of developing methods of assessing organisational and managerial factors which could be incorporated into the regular appraisal and evaluation of agricultural projects and programmes in less developed countries.

The use of management techniques in the course of project or programme implementation is also discussed, with the main emphasis being on techniques of monitoring.

All five papers discuss the above and provide some important suggestions.
